LIFELESS DARK - FORCES OF NATURES TRANSFORMATION
lifeless dark are a us punk band playing metallic hardcore punk with thrash influences. their debut lp “forces of natures transformation” was released in 2025 on side two records, ten tracks that build on the foundation of their 2018 demo tape “who will be the victims.” this is dark, apocalyptic music about the collapse of empires and the unraveling of modern civilization.
the album opens with “monsters of mans invention / the forgotten,” a sprawling six-minute epic that sets the tone for everything that follows:
heavy, slow-moving riffs combined with fast punk energy, creating something that feels both ancient and desperate. later on, “radiation sickness” delivers a quick burst of nuclear paranoia in under three minutes, while “medusa” stretches out into progressive territory with shifting tempos and structures that recall the best of early celtic frost and voivod.
the rest of the album keeps this apocalyptic vision going. there are songs about decay, about fear and survival, about trying to find meaning in a dying world.
lifeless dark don’t offer hope or redemption, they just document the collapse with unrelenting detail. the music matches:
heavy, chaotic, but never sloppy.
if you like crust, early 80s metal, and dark hardcore punk like amebix or zygot, this is for you. there are obvious sacrilege comparisons to be made, but lifeless dark bring their own vision to the table: more progressive structures, more ambition, and a genuine belief that the world really is ending.
